Nimira Dhalwani

Nimira Dhalwani serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Director of the Electronic Child Health Network (eCHN) at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). In her role as CTO, she leads hospital IT infrastructure while advancing digital capabilities that support SickKids’ long‑term strategic vision. Her work is grounded in integrative thinking, a deep understanding of the rapidly evolving technology landscape, and a commitment to improving the patient journey across the healthcare system. She is also recognized for her strong support of her teams and her focus on enabling their success.

In addition to her CTO and eCHN leadership responsibilities, Nimira has served as Interim Chief Information Security Officer at SickKids, and currently oversees the Information Security portfolio reflecting her breadth of expertise across technology, cybersecurity, and digital health operations. Her earlier career includes leadership roles at the University Health Network, where she contributed to the provincial Electronic Health Record (EHR), as well as positions in IT management, education program management, and public health policy.

Her professional and volunteer work reflects a strong commitment to community service, diversity, pluralism, and lifelong learning. She has held leadership roles within the Ismaili community, including serving as President of the Ismaili Council for Toronto, and has contributed to organizations such as the Regent Park Community Health Centre, CNIB, and Digital Health Canada.

Nimira holds a Bachelor of Science (BScH) in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. She has also completed executive education at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and holds professional certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Health Care Green Belt.
